Our History

The first Supanews store was opened by Adrian Gaskin in 1992 in Aspley, Queensland. The success of this business allowed Adrian to open more stores and he opened several sites within the Brisbane CBD. Following on from this success, the chain then expanded into major shopping complexes and transit locations on the east coast of Australia.

In late 2004 Supanews became the first business model franchise in the newsagency industry. Franchising was identified as the best way to build and manage the business for expansion. Supanews developed a strong franchise system that offered people a simplified and robust way to become a newsagent.

Supanews Retail currently has 47 stores (32 franchised) in Queensland, New South Wales, ACT and Victoria.
