Ovarian Cancer Australia

Ovarian Cancer Australia is a national not-for-profit organisation that provides support and advocacy for people affected by ovarian cancer, and is the peak body for ovarian cancer awareness and prevention. Ovarian cancer is the 6th most common cause of cancer death in Australian woman. There is no reliable early detection test for ovarian cancer (contrary to popular belief, the pap smear does not test for the disease) so many women are diagnosed in the late stages when the cancer is difficult to treat successfully.

In 2010, Supanews stores donated proceeds from the sale of Mothers Day cards to Ovarian Cancer Australia to help fund their valuable work raising awareness of ovarian cancer and supporting women with the disease. Some of their key initiatives include regular support groups and resources for women who have been diagnosed, a toll-free advice and referral line, a tele-support group for women based in rural and regional areas, and a national Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month and Teal Ribbon Day in February each year. Teal is the international colour for ovarian cancer. More information on Ovarian Cancer Australia and its programs can be found at www.ovariancancer.net.au.

Supanews is delighted to have commenced this partnership with Ovarian Cancer Australia and looks forward to working hard to support this worthy cause.

Mission Australia

Supanews is delighted to be a supporter and fundraiser for Mission Australia. Supanews has been supporting their work since November 2007. Supanews donates a proportion of sales from Christmas greeting cards to Mission Australia. Supanews and Mission Australia are united in our desire to see a fairer Australia and to help those in need find pathways to a better life.

Mission Australia is a national, community service organisation that believes everybody should have the opportunity to live a fulfilling life. They advocate for the most disadvantaged people in Australian communities, through over 450 services throughout metropolitan, regional and rural Australia.

Mission Australia is focused on developing and delivering innovative, contemporary services to tackle the emerging social problems facing society. By supporting young children and their families, youth and people who are homeless the aim is to assist all people by developing the skills needed to reach their full potential.

RBWH Research Foundation

Supanews, through its network of newsagencies, was a proud supporter of the One Armed Cookbook project. All proceeds raised from the sale of the cookbook went towards helping Australia's premature babies get the best start possible.  The RBWH Foundation gives life to men, women and babies through clinical reasearch at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital.

Supanews proudly donated all profits from the sale of the One Armed Cookbook's throughout their store network to the RBWH Foundation.
