Supanews' success can be largely attributed to the passion and drive of our key people.  We believe we have reinvented the newsagency.  Our vision is to create a stronger and more robust newsagency model and to provide franchisees with a manageable and profitable business.

Adrian Gaskin -  Supanews Managing Director/Founder

Adrian Gaskin is the founder and Managing Director of Supanews. Adrian has over 35 years experience in newsagency retail. Adrian started Supanews in 1994.  Adrian's passion and entrepreneurial drive have helped him grow the business from a single store into an industry leading retail chain with over 50 stores and more to come.

Conor O'Malley - Group Specialist Retail Director

Conor is the RedGroup Retail Specialist Retail Director, encompassing RedGroup Retail accountabilities for the Supanews, Casual Leasing and Calender Club businesses as well as responsibility for the Group Programme Office. Conor came to Australia in August 2006 having been appointed as Group Executive Logistics and Planning for National Foods. In February 2010 Conor left National Foods as Group Executive Corporate Services and Logistics; a role that combined responsibility as Chief Procurement Officer, Chief Logistics Officer, Chief of Shared Services and functional responsibility for Group Safety.

Prior to coming to Australia Conor had 18 years experience within in the UK supply chain industry. In the 3PL sector his last position was Director responsible for Wincanton’s retail business for Tesco, Somerfield and as the Country Director for all contracts in Northern Ireland. Prior to that, he held Board level positions as Logistics and Supply Director in both the catalogue and drinks wholesale sectors.

Anna Gaskin - Supanews Director/General Operations Manager

Anna is the General Operations Manager and Group Buyer for the Supanews business. Anna is directly accountable for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of the business, along with responsibilities for group buying, particularly the card and gift category. Anna has over 20 years experience in newsagency operation and management.

Tony Ristevski - Supanews Director/Chief Financial Officer RedGroup Retail

Tony Ristevski was appointed Chief Financial Officer in October 2008. Prior to joining the group, Tony held various senior finance roles with Computershare Limited based across Australia, the US and the UK from 2000. Tony’s most recent role was CFO – Asia Pacific Region and Global Technology Group. During his time, Tony had undertaken numerous restructure and post acquisition integration roles both in Australia and globally. He was also the financial lead on many acquisitions, including their first public company takeover in Australia and establishing joint ventures in India and Japan.

Previous to Computershare, Tony was with Pacific Dunlop Limited having worked in Pacific Brands Group and Group Head Office. His roles focussed on financial systems and group reporting. Tony started his career in professional practise with Clarke & Company and later Coopers & Lybrand where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Tony has a bachelor of Commerce (Honours) and a MBA from Melbourne Business School.

John Watt - Supanews Group Manager, Network Development

John is responsible for the development and growth of both the existing franchise network and the recruitment and selection of all new franchisees into the Supanews family. He has over 15 years experience in Retail Operations in both Australia and the UK  for both corporate and franchise outlets.

His previous roles included senior management positions within two franchise groups; Jumping J-Jays and Howards Storage World, in which both companies expanded their franchisee operations overseas. He performed both franchise recruitment and franchises operational roles within these companies. In the UK he worked in various business and development roles for a 1000 chain convenience retail outlet.

James Hills - Supanews In-House Legal Counsel

LLB BA (Pol Sci) Qld, GradDipLegPrac, MQLS
James is the in-house Legal Counsel for Supanews Retail Pty Ltd. James’ focus is on providing timely and relevant advice to Supanews on all matters, including franchising, property and other commercial transactions. With the business’ internal legal assets, James is able to advise the company on all commercial matters relevant to its daily operations. James has been employed within the Supanews business since 2003. He holds degrees in Arts and Law from the University of Queensland, and is admitted to practice as a solicitor in Queensland and the High Court of Australia.
