Retail Model

Supanews is committed to becoming a great retailer and the destination of choice for magazines, greeting cards and stationery.  With our increasing size, Supanews has been able to achieve greater buying power and better profitability than an independent newsagency.

Supanews leverages its customer driving products like magazines and lotteries to drive greater margin product sales like greeting cards, stationery and impulse lines.

Our stores are typically found within high traffic locations, including busy transit sites and shopping centres.  As such, Supanews stores capitalise on this natural traffic and less work is required in getting customers into the stores. Similarly, most stores only operate Shopping Centre hours and do not make home deliveries, thus reducing much of the workload, compared to a regular newsagent.

Over the coming years Supanews plans to continue its rapid growth and expansion of its customer base and franchise network through acquisitions of existing newsagencies and prime greenfield sites. It is envisaged that by the end of 2009, Supanews will grow to 60 stores and serve over 15 million customers per year.

Supanews plans to grow to over 200 stores, servicing over 50 million customers a year by 2010.

Key to this objective is the constant development and improvement of the business model and retail offering. Supanews aims to be the benchmark for all other newsagencies and this will be attained though the strengths of the system and procedures, our strong supplier relationships and the motivation and enthusiasm of our talented franchisees.
